The Yorkshire and Humber ENRICH Network present a poster on URiCH at a National Conference.

Chris Rhymes and Mick Mullane of the Clinical Research Network: Yorkshire and Humber recently attended the influential King’s Fund ‘International Digital Health and Care Congress’ in London. The congress took a wide look at the best implementations of technology in healthcare. This includes everything from traditional tele-care to the use of mobile phone apps to manage health conditions.

Chris and Mick presented a poster on the upcoming online course developed by the Yorkshire and Humber ENRICH network. The course entitled URICH or Understanding Research in Care Homes, is a MOOC style course aimed at care home staff, teaching them about the importance of research, why and how it is facilitated and delivered. The course also covers the ethics of research and informed consent in the care home setting.

Mick was also invited to talk about the project to the delegates where it was warmly received with interest. Delegates felt that the online course, which also works on computers and mobile devices, would be “a welcome addition to workforce development.” The course will be available to all ENRICH homes across the country for free and will be rolled out in the Autumn.
