The Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences, University of Oxford, invites you to participate in a survey about stroke reviews in primary care and care homes. The survey will take about 10 minutes to complete. You are being invited to participate in this study because you are the manager of a registered care home in the UK.

Through the ENRICH Research Ready Care Home Network and toolkit we support research in a range of areas. We are pleased to be supporting the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences, University of Oxford, who invite you to participate in a survey about stroke reviews in primary care and care homes.

Who is it doing it
A group of researchers at the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences, University of Oxford, funded by the National Institute for Health Research’s School for Primary Care Research Grant (Ref. 229). The lead researcher is Daniela Goncalves (daniela.goncalves@phc.ox.ac.uk).
Why it is being done
The structured assessment of stroke survivors needs has been recommended by clinical practice guideline issued in the UK (e.g., NICE). However, it is not clear to what extent these are being done and the information available is scarce. Because care home residents often present greater complexity and dependency, we are particularly interested in understanding the care home managers perspective about these reviews.
What will we do with the information
The aggregated findings of this research will be used for establishing a snapshot of how stroke survivors needs are being met. We expect that the results will help us to define the key evidence gaps, which will be addressed in future research projects, including a project about the optimal provision of healthcare in care homes.
