On March 23, we will host a roundtable to discuss the mental health and wellbeing impacts of COVID-19 on care home residents and staff. Ahead of this meeting, we’d like to hear first-hand from people such as yourself who are on the frontline of the pandemic response, working in key roles within the care sector.

This rapid review of evidence addressed three questions:

1) What is the evidence on the impact of visitors in terms of infections in care homes?
2) What is the evidence on the impact of closing care homes to visitors on the wellbeing of residents?
3) What has been the impact of restricting visits on quality of care?

Are you a care home owner, manager or care home staff? Would you like to take part in a study that will evaluate several different drug treatments to prevent, or reduce the severity of, COVID-19 outbreaks in care home residents? If so researchers from the University of Nottingham invite you to a webinar being held on the 2nd March at 1pm.

Long Term Care responses to COVID-19 recorded a webinar on the 1st February 2021 which explored the safe visiting in care homes during the pandemic in Australia, Canada, The Netherlands, UK and USA.

The Care Provider Alliance have published their Enhanced Health in Care Homes: A guide for care homes. This guide is intended for Registered Managers of care homes and care home staff in England but may be of interest to a wider group, including health care professionals.
